Dearly Stars is a unit that officially debuted in the game, THE iDOLM@STER ONE FOR ALL. It features the 876 Production idols Ai Hidaka, Eri Mizutani, and Ryo Akizuki.

History

Ai Hidaka, Eri Mizutani, and Ryo Akizuki all debuted in THE iDOLM@STER Dearly Stars as upcoming idols of 876 Production. While the trio were considered to be close friends and were often depicted as nearly inseparable, they had yet to actually appear onstage at the same time. Technically they could perform together using the wifi settings in Dearly Stars, but they were limited in their performances to having only one idol appear at a time. They occasionally did complete some jobs together, but they always performed alone. In their THE iDOLM@STER 2 and THE iDOLM@STER SHINY TV appearances, they were each shown as solo idols, performing their image songs. At the time, they were not known collectively known as anything other than "the 876PRO idols" or occasionally "the Dearly Stars trio".

It wasn't until ONE FOR ALL that they officially appeared to be working together as a unit and adopted the name Dearly Stars.

Trivia

  • Until they formed this unit, none of the members had ever performed onstage with anyone else in the game series. Several manga and official artwork depict otherwise. Their appearance in OFA also makes them one of two units outside of 765 Production to have the ability to execute solo, duet, and trio performances, the other being new generations.
  • The "New Wave" unit from THE iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls was clearly based on this unit. Somewhat ironically, New Wave managed to create an official name for themselves before their source material.
