|General character data|
Miku Hatsune (初音ミク Hatsune Miku) is a character created by Crypton Future Media for the Vocaloid program and the now-independent software Piapro Studio.
Despite being the most famous mascot of Crypton Future Media, Hatsune Miku does not have a set personality. This is because creators of the software wanted her personality to be based on what users would have her sing.
In a cross-promotion with the Vocaloid brand, downloadable costumes and songs are available from the Japanese Playstation Network for Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA 2nd game on October 28, 2010. Miku has a song and costume specifically available to her: "Haruka-style Miku" and GO MY WAY!!. Since the original release, both the song and costume have also appeared in Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Extend. The costume is based on the "Primary-Star Plum" CUTE & GIRLY costume from THE iDOLM@STER SP.
Miku makes her appearance in THE iDOLM@STER 2 as an in-game rival to the Producer's idol trio. In the game, she wears both her trademark Vocaloid costume and her Append costume. She is downloadable content on both the first and fourth catalogs. She sings songs written by supercell and is known both in-game and on the official website as a "Special Idol".
Trivia and Fan Culture
- While it rarely ever happens, World is Mine's save file can corrupt. As a result, another idol's model could be used for this song using Miku's motion data.
- One of Hatsune Miku's songs, Senbonzakura, was covered by Azusa Miura on her MASTER ARTIST 3 CD.
