THE iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage (アイドルマスター シンデレラガールズ スターライトステージ Aidorumasutaa Shinderera Gaaruzu Sutaaraito Suteeji) is a spin-off free-to-play rhythm game released for mobile devices based on THE iDOLM@STER: Cinderella Girls.


Similar to THE iDOLM@STER SHINY FESTA, this is a rhythm game. The game revolves around tapping icons of the idols in the rhythm of the background song. Different kinds of notes will be brought in to show how each icon must be tapped; these include simply tapping the icon, tapping and holding down the icon, tapping and flicking a certain direction, tapping two icons simultaneously, and tapping and sliding a certain direction.

Events and Event Types

Events are a way to obtain limited cards, trophies, and other rewards like trainer tickets and Star Jewels. Events usually last from anywhere to 6 to 8 days. There are 3 events each month: Live Groove or Live Parade events are the first event of the month, Caravan or Susume! Cinderella Road are the second, and a Token event is always the last. For Live Groove and Token events, there is usually a points-based award and a ranking award card, the latter of which is awarded to players who do well in game-wide rankings (usually the top ranking 100,000 players). As of June 2016, tiers have now been extended to 120,000, which allows more people to receive the ranking SR. Currently, players can now get the ranking SR at 18,000 points. As of now, there are 6 event types.


In Token events, the player can collect items from normal Lives. These tokens are used in place of stamina to play the event song, usually an existing group song from the Jewelries series or elsewhere. Through playing the event song (and playing normal songs, to a lesser extent), the player can earn points. Points unlock rewards, and chapters in a brand-new, voiced story featuring the original song's unit (for example, Atashi Ponkotsu Android's story featured Uzuki, Nana, Miho, Anzu, and Miku). There is a new room item at 5,000 points, a limited point card first available at 10,000 points, a ranking card first available at 18,000 points, and an Event limited ticket at 25,000 points. Additionally, the player's high score is tracked, and ranking high in that area earns the player a decoration for their room, though it is much harder to receive than the ranking SR. As of June 2016, players can now play the token event song in Master+ difficulty, though it costs the same amount of tokens as Master.

LIVE Groove

There are three different sub-types of this event: Vocal, Dance, and Visual. Each type boosts the attributes of cards by 150%, so a card with 3000 points in Visual would be boosted to 4500 points during a Visual Burst. This event has the player spend stamina to select a difficulty of Groove, after which they will be given three songs in a certain attribute: Cool, Cute, or Passion (though non-typed songs like Star!! can be featured). Players can spend in-game money to reroll the type of Groove twice, after which they are stuck with the final type. The player then plays these three songs back-to-back, with an applause meter on the left. PERFECT and GREAT notes increase the applause level while BAD and MISS decrease it. If the applause level is over 17 after the songs are completed, an encore is unlocked, featuring a new song (sometimes one entirely new to the franchise). On Master difficulty, an applause level over 21 unlocks an encore at the Master+ difficulty, which is even harder. As of early April 2016, the player can unlock MV mode if they clear an encore on either Master or Master+. Much like Token events, this event features rankings and new stories.

Cinderella Caravan

This event differs from the first two in that it is not point-based, and does not feature any new songs. Instead, players progress through the game as normal, with a chance of limited SRs and Rs dropping through normal lives. The chances of these cards dropping can be raised by choosing a center idol (support idols do not contribute towards drop rates) with a high Star Rank, raised by fusing two of the same card together in a Star Lesson. Additionally, every day has a chosen type where songs of that attribute receive a raise in drop rates. Songs also drop Caravan Tokens, which can be collected and traded for the featured cards or other rewards.

Susume! Cinderella Road

In this event, players progress through spaces on a map by gaining points which are gained by clearing normal lives. Players can gain bonus points by putting the displayed idol into a unit, prioritizing the Vocal/Dance/Visual/Total appeal stats (note that support members, support skill, center skill, room-item bonus, and song bonus don't count) or Star Rank of a unit, and playing the right song type. Players can also randomly receive a 2x point bonus upon clearing a song. Once players reach the end of a map, a Trainer awaits them and a Trainer Mission activates. These Trainer Missions are cumulative, so players can keep playing and add to the total at their pace. Any unused steps will be turned into Susume Tickets, which can be used to advance through spaces without playing lives. Completing Trainer Missions reward players various rewards including an event card of one of the featured idol and unlock unvoiced chapters for players to read. Completing the first Trainer Mission unlocks the second idol's route. Players can change routes by clicking the top-right button (ルート切替). Players can only advance on one route at a time, but they can still freely switch between the two routes without losing progress. Once players fully complete a route, they can play through the map again to obtain additional copies of a card.

LIVE Parade

In this event, players tour Japan with their idols. There is no point ranking for this type of event, but there are new songs, units, and stories to unlock. Each area has 2-3 subareas with 1-3 songs in each. Clearing a subarea will give the players attendees and event points which will give event point/attendee rewards, but most importantly the two event SR cards. Each subarea has 1-3 missions a player needs to complete in order to clear and move on to the next area, for example completing a live with 50% or more life or maintaining a 300 note combo. To unlock new areas, a player must have a certain number of attendees in a previous area, for example, to unlock area 2, one must obtain 10,000 attendees in area 1 first. In newer areas, the event points and attendees for clearing subareas increase. Each day certain songs will yield more attendees and event points and will have a mark on them in the song selection screen.

LIVE Carnival

Debuting on July 2nd, 2019, this event focuses on your idol production's total strength. The goal is to rank up the carnival by filling the gauge, which is dependent on one's score (1 voltage point per 100 score) within the number of Booths and obtains carnival medals along the way. Dotted all over the Carnival Grounds are Booths, Unit Tent, Gacha buildings, and mini-dialogue events from the Puchiderella idols. More of these will be available to be seen once the player raises their Carnival Rank. Once the player reaches SSS rank, they can compete for the final Carnival rankings.


Booths are where players play lives. There are a total of 10 Booths scattered around the carnival, starting with only 2, and the rest will unlock as you rank up. The 10th Booth features a Grand Live. Each booth has a certain set of songs and their own bonuses. The higher the Carnival Rank the player is at, the higher the appeal bonus and multiplier for carnival medals the player received via lives are.

If the player does not have enough voltage points after using up all the Booths, they can either replay the Booths (using stamina again) or reset the Booths with a new song/unit. Do note that for each booth used, one isn't allowed to use the same song/unit in other booths to rank up.


Unit building in Carnival makes use of 18 custom units instead of those already made beforehand. Players are not able to use idols of the same illustrations in different units. Players are able to use the same card as long as one copy is unawakened. Another special feature of the Carnival is to able to use guest idols from other players to be put into one's Carnival units as long they have unique illustrations. There are limitations, however. The player can't place them on the center slot, can only have one guest idol per unit, and can only borrow up to 3 guest idols. Borrowed guest players (including yours) will receive 10 carnival medals for each time one plays with their card. Keep in mind guest idols aren't able to gain affection and fans upon clearing lives. The player can set their 4 idols for other players to use in the Event Guest Idol Settings (イベントゲスト設定). By default, the cards with the highest appeal are chosen, but one can change them by tapping on the idol's icon and then tapping the Change Idol (アイドル変更) button.

Metal Gacha

This is where players obtain rewards, including star jewels, event cards, SR tickets, etc. One roll costs 10 carnival metals and ten rolls cost 100 carnival metals. There are 21 different boxes with a limited number of prizes in each one of them. Once one rolls a certain "reset" item, it's possible to move on to the next box if desired, however, any items still left over in the box cannot be obtained afterward. On the Gacha Settings (ガチャ設定), one can change the maximum number of rolls to draw or tap the tick button to specify which items from the current box one wants. Once all the items with a tick mark have been received, then multiple draws will stop. By default, only the reset item is selected.


Formerly an event, this mode allows you to play with four other people. Five players play a song together and gain an amount of Star Emblems depending on how well they do individually (affected by rarity, stats, card skill level, potentials, and type attribute), which can be exchanged for previous event idols, items, star jewels, memory keys, etc. These rewards reset monthly. The total score does not only include the song score but also takes the idol's skill, combo length, and other factors into consideration. Players can set 4 different units pertaining to each song attribute (Cute, Cool, Passion, and Rainbow). In each unit, there are five different roles which give different stat bonuses: Performer (Visual), Vocalist (Vocal), Center (All), Dancer (Dance), and Leader (Life). When put into a match, the game will randomly pick what role you will represent and the idol you picked to represent that role will be used. Here, players can also set and show stickers that greet, communicate with, and say goodbye to players before and after the match. During events, players can either gain event points, Caravan Tokens, attendance boosting items, or Susume Tickets from clearing lives. This used to be called Co-op Live while in beta testing.


The gacha is used to scout for new idols and to obtain cards using star jewels and friendship points as currency. All rarities of cards unlock memorial stories and idol episodes once a card is changed into its "+" form. SSR cards unlock special outfits that can be viewed through the 3D mode in lives.

Platinum Gacha

In the regular Platinum Gacha, players can scout for Rare, Super Rare, and Super Super Rare cards using star jewels as currency. It costs 250 star jewels for 1 scout and 2500 star jewels for 10 scouts. A player can also scout once per day with 60 paid jewels. In a 10 scout, the tenth card in the scout is a guaranteed SR card. All cards featured and in the gacha are permanent. A new Platinum Gacha appears three times a month usually featuring a new permanent SSR card and SR card with the featured cards having a higher appearance rate than other cards in the gacha. All permanent Platinum Gacha cards are also available to scout for in Limited, Cinderella Festival, and Type Select Gacha.

Limited Gacha

Limited Gacha are a type of Platinum Gacha that happen at the beginning of each month usually revolving around a special theme. The featured cards are two limited SSRs, one permanent SR and one limited SR. Limited cards are not available in any other Platinum, Cinderella Festival, or Limited Gacha but their own. Some of the earlier Limited Gacha are reappearing at the end of every month there isn't a Cinderella Festival Gacha.

Cinderella Festival Gacha

In this special type of Platinum Gacha that appears at the end of each third month, the SSR card appearance rate is doubled from 1.5% to 3.0%. Each Cinderella Festival gacha features three Cinfes-exclusive SSR cards of each attribute. Unlike Limited Gacha, Cinfes-exclusive SSR cards are available in every Cinderella Festival Gacha after the one they were featured in.

Type Select

Type Select Gacha happen for three consecutive days every month (one day per attribute), usually after that month's Limited Gacha. The cards a player is able to scout for is limited to one attribute (Cute, Cool, or Passion). Unlike past Type Select Gacha, all rarities are affected by the attribute constraint, not just SSR cards.

Local Audition

In the Local Audition Gacha, players can spend friendship points in exchange for primarily Normal cards and Rookie through Master trainer tickets. It is possible to get Rare and even Super Rare cards through the gacha, but they are rare. The appearance rate for N, R, & SR cards and trainer tickets is unknown. It costs 200 friendship points for one scout and 2000 friendship points for a 10 scout.


This is the list of songs confirmed to play within this game. There are currently 200 playable songs (not counting Onegai! Cinderella solos and event version of songs below) with more to be added soon. Three songs, all from the anime series, were exclusively available through download codes, such as Shine!!, which was available through the purchase of THE IDOLM@STER CINDERELLA GIRLS ANIMATION PROJECT 2nd Season 01 Shine!!. However, these songs were later made available to all players.

Some event songs such as Gokigen Party Night, Take me☆Take you, and Yes! Party Time!! can be toggled to their event version before the LIVE starts.

Each song has its own MV Mode, unlockable by clearing it on any difficulty at least once. Rearranges, remixes and certain cover songs' MV Modes are available on 2D versions only.

Onegai! Cinderella Solos

Onegai! Cinderella has its solo versions that are made playable. In order to do that, obtain certain SRs and SSRs of each voiced idol, then place them in the center, and finally turn on the "Solo version" button before the LIVE starts. Note that event SRs are not eligible.

The following 197 idols are confirmed to appear as playable characters, both in the 3D and Puchi 2D versions of the LIVE modes, as well as in Business mode.
