About translation of song titles, since it was discussed in the forum:

For the in-game songs, I moved the original title and translated title to the "stats boxes".

My opinion is that a translated song title should be included on each song page, but it's often not obvious how to translate it.

If the title is used somewhere inside the lyrics, I think the translation of the title itself and the translation of the lyrics should agree as much as possible.

In-game songs currently missing translated titles:

None at the moment. --Laburey 16:51, 27 November 2009 (UTC)

Also, some of the in-game songs still need to have their lyrics table coloured:

fixed thanks for listing them. It was tough tough work fixing them Hopefully they'll stay that way now.
--yukipo 20:12, 24 November 2009 (UTC)

Purikogu's name was explained by Eri in iM@S DS, after Ozaki asked Eri to give the song a name. The meaning of the song's name Precog, or precognition, can vaguely be found back in the lyrics. Still, some things are better left untranslated imo. --BT2 19:27, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

i ~and you~ is most probably the bad end song your unit sings for you in iM@S2 and is just a rearranged version of "i"; both songs have the same lyricist and composer. Instead of listing it as a new song I'm of opinion that it should get a mention on this and i's page instead. --BT2 03:02, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Very well, I've undone that addition to the list. There's still some room for doubt, though, so let's table the issue until further notice.

Sortable Tables Overhaul

I reorganized the in-game songs into a sortable table (sans the last column) since it looks really big as a list in separate lines. If you guys want to change it back, go right on ahead. I can do that for the rest as well at some point if you guys think it works. Uh, the Lyrics column is kanji/romaji/translation as a note. (ohyeah and I put it under the song category as well) --Nyachan 04:19, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

did the next section's songs into a table and made the lyrics column sortable on both so people looking for songs to update can find them easier. Also put int the Japanese titles into the articles missing them plus translations. Uh, the idea behind the list is maybe so this can become a general song list page instead of just something for us to see what's missing regarding the songs. --Nyachan 17:42, 1 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi, I am also working on the song listings. You might have noticed how I restructured the tables you made and in some cases combined them. Eventually, I plan for this page to have three tables: In-game songs, Game-related album songs, and Radio songs (since they are unique in that they are credited to the actors and not the characters).
I was actually the one who added subcategories to the In-game, Original, and Request Songs sections. I was planning to fold the Christmas, Vacation, Drama CD etc. sections in as well, but I kinda lost my focus. Thanks for spurring me back into action!
--Tigron 23:40, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

After reviewing the combined Game-related table for a while, I think maybe combining the originals and requests was not the best aesthetic decision. Perhaps I could break it up into two tables again and put each into a subsection of Game-related Album Songs, but I want to get the community's opinion first. Is the cover/noncover distinction important enough to warrant a subdivision?
--Tigron 23:52, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe color the rows differently for covers/originals? Then they'll stand out more against each other but still be a single table. --Nyachan 03:44, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe, but that would make this table look noticeably different from the one above; I think we want a consistent style. Plus, the table would no longer be sortable by request/original. I implemented a temporary, semi-sortable solution today. Already the table looks a lot better.
--Tigron 15:47, 4 May 2011 (UTC)

So like, what makes a song a "Game-related Album Song" neways, though it mentions the songs being from real life CD's there's no real explanation on the game-related part of "Game-related Album Songs". Currently I see original NBGI iM@S songs, various songs from animes, games and other singers listed there. Perhaps it'd be better to split this up to non-game iM@S album songs and external songs, including requests and other bum borrowed songs. --BT2 01:10, 14 May 2011 (UTC)

The songs in the "Game-related" section are credited to the game characters (Haruka, Chihaya, etc.) and the songs under the "Radio" label are credited to their voice actors (Eriko, Asami, etc.). I'll describe that distinction in greater detail once I get to table-izing the Radio section.
I chose the term "Game-related" because that's how the albums are described on the Main Page. Perhaps "Album Songs by iM@S Characters" might be a better section title.

"Official Songs"

I know this list is for Official songs only, so should we list a song like Rank Up! anywhere? This song is not from an official iM@S game (it's from THE iM@S CHAMP), and its not listed anywhere on the site... I found it via Random Page.

Nope: it was removed from song listing after it was realized that it wasn't official. It should have been deleted, and the link is to a red page, so I'm surprised you even found it. Tamaratan 00:16, 12 November 2012 (CET)

It's still here, listed under Rank up!. Sorry for the faulty link...--Chance4U 00:20, 12 November 2012 (CET)

LIVE in SLOT songs

I've been doing some digging around online, and the following songs are the only ones I can find listed for the game. Can someone confirm if this is right or prove this wrong? Watashi wa Idol, I Want, Kiramekirari, Do-Dai ,Furufuru Future☆, relations, Kosmos, Cosmos, My Best Friend, Omoide o Arigatou, Me ga Au Toki, THE IDOLM@STER, GO MY WAY!!, shiny smile, Kamisama no Birthday, Colorful Days, MEGARE!, my song, We Have A Dream.

I can make changes to effected changes if necessary. --Chance4U (talk) 23:29, 1 March 2013 (CET)

Sorting songs?

I've been thinking for a while that the "Album Songs by iM@S Characters" section needs a clean-up. I think the best way to go would be to split the larger section into stuff like "Puchimas songs", "Cover songs", and whatnot, but I wanted to ask for opinions before I did it! Sakuya (talk) 00:41, 14 August 2014 (CEST)

That's a good idea. The "COVER-____ SONGS-*" need to be updated to the "MUSIC DISC COLLECTION".--Chance4U (talk) 00:56, 14 August 2014 (CEST)

Non Playable Songs

Okay, what is the definition of a non playable song? Is it that it can't be used in "Stage For You!/Office Mode"? First Step is obviously unplayable in that case, but Jupiter is available for "Stage For You!" in the PS3 version. I don't know if the case is the same for Leon... Unless non playable means that 765 can't sing it. If that's the case, then we have quite a few non playables to consider with all of these OFA guest characters..

Also, while digging around, I noticed some songs that were recorded for the games. These songs were given official names, but are not available in S4U! in any game:

Having "i~ and you~" sharing a page with "i" is for the best and First Step already has a page, but the others are apparently stand alone songs with some notability. You might be familiar with the "Loading Song" from iM@S 2 and it. Even still, all four songs are listed as having composers and artists, despite only ever appearing in the games (besides First Step). They've been referred to in interviews, blog posts, in game dramas, and even on the official website itself. Should I just add them?

Also for songs that appeared only in the manga or novels (as in they have lyrics and everything, just no actual recording or tune), should they go on this page?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! --Chance4U (talk) 06:50, 18 November 2014 (CET)

I always thought non playable meant it couldn't be seen in a S4U type setting. That means that songs like ALIVE in OFA are considered Non Playable, but Anzu no Uta is guest-only, not NP.
Honestly I would put the loading song on Ami's trivia page, and I'm not sure about Wonder Voice... Perhaps we could try a Other Song category? Sakuya (talk) 07:06, 18 November 2014 (CET)

I found it all on this page.

The in game non playable songs listed are:

  • Gregorio (グレゴリオ) - THE iDOLM@STER Arcade
  • Wonder Voice (ワンダーボイス) by Yayoi - THE iDOLM@STER SP, THE iDOLM@STER LIVE in SLOT! (planned)
  • Summer Evening! Mai-chan Rumba (納涼 !舞ちゃん ルンバ) by Mai Hidaka - THE iDOLM@STER DS
  • Good Catch! Mai-chan Mambo (大漁!舞ちゃんマンボ) by Mai Hidaka - THE iDOLM@STER DS
  • Song of Loading (ローディングの歌) by Ami - THE iDOLM@STER 2
  • First Step by Yukiho - THE iDOLM@STER 2
  • i〜 and you〜 - THE iDOLM@STER 2
  • Lucky Star (ラッキー スター !) by Devil Angel - THE iDOLM@STER 2
  • WORLD OF PAIN by Cineria - THE iDOLM@STER 2
  • LIVING DEAD by Cineria - THE iDOLM@STER 2

The other media songs are here:

  • Sayonara étranger by Chihaya - THE iDOLM@STER Novels
  • Palpitating Summer Days by Proro - THE iDOLM@STER Novels
  • The Port City Sisters (女二人の港町) by Mikokoro Sano and Miki - THE iDOLM@STER relations
  • Yurushite Pai-Touch (ゆるして☆パイタッチ) by Devil Angel - THE iDOLM@STER relations

Sayonara étranger, Palpitating Summer Days, Wonder Voice, Song of Loading, and First Step all for sure have lyrics. I'm currently looking for the others. The loading song would work well on Ami's page, and I'll change Jupiter's songs into being available in the PS3 version.

Re-organizing(?) In-Game Songs subsection

The In-game songs section has grown beyond massive, to the point where it's a bit hard to read... there's two changes that I'd like to propose to help tame it somewhat.

  • Split the table into First and Second Vision

This would cut the table's horizontal width in half, which is desperately needed at this point. Not only that, it would set a precedent once any Third Vision games come out, so we don't get into page-stretching territory.

  • Integrate older songs back into the CD sections

Newer songs are being kept in both sections, so I think it would be best to do the same for older songs for consistency's sake.

What are everyone else's opinions on this? Tamaratan (talk) 20:07, 3 April 2015 (CEST)

I'll say the former for now. Yeah, it's getting too big which is why I re-organize the Other songs into smaller bits.

Now I'm thinking about it, let's do both but only for the Special guest songs from OFA. -- ChocoCats (talk) 20:20, 3 April 2015 (CEST)
Yeah, the special guest songs are taking up the most room, so cleaning that up is highest priority. What are your thoughts on the rest of the songs? Tamaratan (talk) 00:27, 4 April 2015 (CEST)

ML Songs

  • So apparently there's a new song called アイル (Isle) coming out by Ibuki, yet I have no idea where to put it on the page? Should we make an "Other Million Live" section? Seems a little weird to have that section for one song. Sakuya (talk) 06:37, 4 January 2016 (CET)
  • I'll suggest to make an "Other Million Live" section. I did the same for Aozora Yell for Cinderella Girls and there's nothing strange about it. -- ChocoCats (talk) 06:58, 4 January 2016 (CET)

Where should THE iDOLM@STER.KR songs be listed here? Under adaption songs or should they receive their own section? 15:07, 6 June 2016 (CEST) User:AceYuki

I don't know, honestly. Though my head is telling me that it should have its own section. -- ChocoCats (talk) 20:16, 6 June 2016 (CEST)
